How is a project scoped?
By what the site actually needs to do, not by page count. A portfolio and a content-driven marketing site with a blog are different projects even at the same number of pages. We talk through goals first, then scope.
Do you host the site after it launches?
The site is yours - we hand off the finished project along with the domain and hosting account, so you are never locked into us. We deploy primarily on Cloudflare and AWS depending on what fits your project, and can work with other providers on request. If you would rather not deal with updates and monitoring yourself, we offer an optional monthly Maintenance and Support add-on that covers content updates, security patches and uptime monitoring.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most marketing and portfolio sites are live within 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff. Larger projects with custom design, content production and multiple pages can take 4 to 8 weeks.
Do I need to know anything technical?
Not at all. We handle everything - design, development, hosting and domain setup. You just bring your brand, goals and content (or we help with that too).
Will my site show up on Google?
Yes - SEO fundamentals are included in every build. We set up proper page titles, meta descriptions, sitemaps and fast load times. For competitive local search rankings, we also offer ongoing content and SEO strategy.
Can you help with photos and video for the site?
Yes. We offer photo and video shoots in San Diego (and travel for out-of-area clients), podcast recording and production and video editing. Real branded content converts far better than stock photos.
What if I already have a website and just want to improve it?
